WORKING ON GENETICS WITH BEANS

These days we have been measuring beans. It has been a tough task and it may look boring but when we reach to the conclusion of the variability of the beans' length you will see it was all worth it and interesting.
We will soon post the graphic with the information we got.

Our baby


Because we did not choose the characters the boy came out a little weird:



"Creating a baby"

Yesterday, in our biology class, our teacher gave us two papers with 23 chromosomes drawn in each one. We had to cut out each chromosome and keep them seperated in those two groups. Aswell as the papers with the chromosomes, our teacher gave us another paper that said which pair of chromosomes showed each character. For example, pair 1 was type of hair.

We had to fold each chromosome in half. On each side there was an allele written on it. We threw both chromosomes from pair one in the air and then saw which ones were looking up. On the paper our teacher gave us we looked up what type of hair it correspond to and wrote it down. We did the same thing with the other 23 chromosomes, with a different character each.
